Buyer Beware! www.crossroadzdirect.com = poor.

I know where there is a set of 18" chrome rebels for sale with tires. They are chrome though. :( Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you the link.
SO far Ive done ok with my Rebels...I really like them.
Even my chrome tribars took several years to show any flaking, and that was only where the weights had been attached to the rim lip.

Good luck with that.

Well, at least the rest of us know, which is the benefit of :SNSign: . Thanks for posting. I almost bought chromes too.

Don't get me wrong, this is definitely not a thread against chrome rims, but now you are aware of the dangers of getting them. especially from the supplier i went through.

They are a nice set of rims. They were on my list of choices, no denying it.
Thanks RC, I'm hopin things work out.

Well, just thought i'd post an update...
I was contacted by the new owner Rob from Crossroadzdirect.com from these thread posts I made. And although I'm sure future clients at crossroadz (apparently) will be handled with great care (i was under the same impression), past clients will not be salvaged.

In case anyone else was interested in reading the passing events, here are the strings of emails Rob and I discussed. A nice man, I can't discourage that, but definitely a *BUSINESS* man.

----------------------------

Dear Rob,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately a discount on further purchases does not necessarily help me in my current situation as I never intended on buying multiple sets of rims for my vehicle. I do however understand your position and realize that you, now taking control of the company want to start with a clean slate and to start off fresh.
But from what I gather on your reply, is that, now any past purchases made from customers to your company, either under your ownership or not, are now void. Although I can see your legal obligations I just hope you understand that you're still not helping your past customer (i was a customer of crossroadz at one time).
So that being said, I wish you all the best on future clients as I'm sure YOU'LL stand behind whatever purchases they've made, however retention on past clients has just gone out the window.

Thank you again for your time.
Doug

edit: my rims were installed in 2005, not 2004.
my mistake. I'm living a year behind apparently. Where does the time go.

but that was the original email i sent him.
... thus not wanting to edit it differently for you to read and him to read.

Sucks.... don't see myself ever ordering from them. When I had problems keeping a centercap in one of my AFS wheels, they offered to fix it. The problem I had was what I had to do on my end to get the replacement... removing a tire and having it remounted, which they indeed said they would refund.

I ended up buying two more brand new wheels at cost. $190 shipped to my door for two new 17x9 Black Bullitts is a sweet deal. Now I have matching drag wheels and they sent another centercap, which I just glued in. :nice:

That sucks man they stand behind it. I know when Discount Auto switched to Advance Auto they still honered(sp?) anything that was under the Discount name (as long as warrenty was still valid).

your are 100 percent right wytstang a responsible and reputable company will do as you stated above after all your customers are what keeps you in buisness not the $334.25 crossroadzdirect.com kept in there pocket. satisfaction guaranteed or your money back mr. sam walton when he was alive carried this motto (his family still does) and stood behind it and put alot of giants in retail out of buisness and changed the way alot of his competors do buisness just to keep there neck above water and mr. caldwell your misfortune has made us here at stangnet a little wiser i hate it this happened to you and mr. [email protected] i hope you read this, simply treating someone as you would like to be treated goes a long way how would you feel if this happened to you, you would be very angry. standing behind a product your company name sold goes a long way just think crossroadzdirect.com has a price limit on there no good name in my book its $334.25 they might need to keep the money to keep there head above water 1 more day just in case wal-mart decides to sell the same products as crossroadzdirect.com again sorry for your misfortune mr. caldwell but thanks for the heads up. i'm spreading the word on these companys with no integrity what so ever look that word up mr. Well said. It seems rather obvious that the new owner was sleeping during his business classes (assuming he has a degree)...first thing we were taught in marketing was that if the customer isn't happy there is no customer...and that this often causes a chain reaction...

and to Robert: you lost much, much more than $334.25.

I don't understand the whole "we just took over the company, so we're not responsible for old customers" philosophy. When you buy a company, you take the good with the bad. Customers could give a rat's ass who owns the place after they buy a defective product; they just want to be taken care of.

If you decide to tell them "sorry, but I can't refund your money" you should know it'll cost you a lot more than ~$334. You've had 485 page views on this thread.

The opposite is also true. Had you made this right, you'd have had an evangelist for your company, in a thread with 485 page views. Advertising like that costs a lot more than $334.

I can't understand why people don't get this. It isn't rocket science.

That was well said Bill, and you said it exactly it... because honestly if they can't afford to keep a customer over $334.25, then obviously they need the money worse than i do.

Therian said:

and that was my point exactly. It's not as though I'm not going to buy anything else for my car, or future cars for that matter. Case in point, the new guy I'm dealing with (spenc from 2koolperformance.com//great guy) helped me out with a rim replacement, and just afterwards i went ahead and bought a vert bar off the guy. It's all about being taken care of.

And think of all the views I got just from the title of this thread, nevermind the actual # of people who opened it up to read this. I mean, that's a good several thousand who see buyer beware, and be careful of crossroadz.
And you're exactly right too man, it's not rocket science. You take care of me, I'll keep coming back, it's not that difficult.
But hey, let's remember here, Rob told me that he'd give me a good discount on any future purchases I would make.

thanks.

and 95BLKGT5.0, I'm behind you all the way... we should post a "I had a bad experience with _______ comapny and why"
