Alright im selling my KLZE'D ford probe (14.83 @ 91.8MPH 2.122 60') to buy a 1995 mustang GT in beautiful shape(convertable, red, 5 speed, black leather) its only $4600... BUt it has 199k miles on the stock motor. It was well taken care of though so i dont think it will be a problem. Gonna compression test it first and whatnot and the guy is open to offers... so im gonna offer $3800 for it and see what happens... A few things i wanted to know is if its harder to mod a 94-95 compaired to my old fox body 84 i once had... As soon as i get this stang i wanna get it inspected... Go strait for a full exhaust and either a trickflow or GT40 intake manifold. But i heard i might need a throttle body addapter... Also does anyone know how much heavier a convertable is then a stock body... i assume around 200lbs... Which whould probally slow me down a little... I just want another car that will be able to run mid 14's easily with not alot of modding and still be able to have a nice daily driver... Your forums seem to have everything i need and if any of you have probes feel free to visit probetalk.com... ANy other info will be great...
and thank you :SNSign: !

Also does anyone know of fitment issues with ebay xpipes & headers???

And with a full exhaust and intake will this gt vert be faster then my probe??? if not i think i might just stick with the probe a bit longer..

Welcome to SN.

Check my sig for a 14.1s 1/4ET setup. Yes, 'verts are heavier.
My Pypes catted X-pipe is from ebay through blueovalindustries ebay store. It fits perfectly except for the smog tube which needed some "adjusting".

Modding will be a little more complicated than a carb 302. You will need what is called an elbow adapter for using a fox body intake on a 94-95 Mustang. Or you could convert to a fox style throttle body setup.

Thanks for the help! yea i think im gonna get this car... should i be weary about the high milage??? or you think if it is well maintained i should be ok?? im going to look at it tonight so if anyone feels like dropping a comment id be thankfull... my probe is getting sold tomorrow for $3500 cash:rolleyes: mean while ill dream of this stang...
my friend that works at the local ford dealer said with a trickflow mani... full exhaust... i should be deep in the 14's... that doesnt seem right... im not used to cars that respond well to bolt ons... lol... 2HP from a catback on a probe:nonono:

I'd think that with 199k miles no matter how well taken care of, you're on the upper limits of the engine - tack some mods onto there and you'll be in new engine territory very quick.

What I would do is try to talk the owner down to $3,000-$3,500 or so and put the money you save towards replacing the worn parts and getting a rebuilt 306/347 setup.

Since this will be your daily driver, get a good foundation first then pile on the power otherwise you'll end up hating your car as things continue breaking and you just try to keep it running.

My 2c,
Wes

Why in the world whould you get rid of your probe (swaped?) for a vert with 199K?
No more high reving... In the 5oh you'l be done at 5.500! The probe's are not bad car's. There decently fast, look good i think they do anyway.
