well i sold my old mud truck and got enough out of it to pay off my personal loans. me and the wife were looking at getting a new vehicle for her. she currently has a 99 jeep grand cherokee limited. it has the 4.7 v8 with 4wd. it is a nice truck but it gets 18 mpg and she drives about 80 miles a day. it also just turned 72k so it is getting up there in the miles. we are going to look at the new 2007 toyota camrys today. we saw a few last weekend but they didnt have the one we wanted. we finally found a dealer that has a silver one with black on black leather interior and the se package. i just wanted to see if anyone else has any opinions on this of any other new car. we are looking to spend about 25k on it. i'm leaning towards toyota b/c my dad has a 96 corolla that just tripped 255k and still has the original tranny and no major engine work has been needed so i think that they are pretty damn good cars!

The Camrys are very nice cars, but if you want to save yourself some $$ go take a look at the Mazda 6. The V6 version will not be as fast as the V6 Camry but there is no comparison in fun to drive imo.

I got my 06 Mazda 6i with autostick for under 17K brand new. With rebates you could get a V6 loaded up for like 22-23K.

The new camry is really nice. My sis got one a few months ago and i like it alot. Good ride, interior, and actually looks pretty good

you could also take into consideration that the camry/accord would hold its value the best also, and it has the best dependability, i dont think fusion/milan/6 hold value anywhere close to a camry/accord.

Or so they say. The word "dependable" encompasses alot and means different things to different people.

+ 1000 for the Mazda 6. It rates very high for the dollar value and the quality. I can attest to that... it's a great car. My Mazda 6 gets almost 600 miles to a tank (17 gallons, tank is 18) and it accelerates on hills with no problem. Comfortable, fast, and stylish... not a "clone" ricer...

I love the way the new camry looks.

Seriously, this pig nosed rhinoplasty disaster?

While I agree a Camry and Accord will be worth more at trade in time, but an equally equipped Mazda 6 will be 3-4+ K cheaper to buy up front.

Like I said mine was under 17K new and has keyless, automatic up/down windows, remote windows, cruise, ac, cd, abs, 4 wheel discs, etc all standard. The auto is a 5 speed and I get about 30mpg highway and 25-26 mixed.

They are selling fully loaded V6 Mazda 6 for 22-23K. Those even have leather, moonroof, bose, etc.

And as for the Fusion, you can get the better looking car the Fusion was built on that is actually made in the USA as apposed the Fusion being made in Mexico.

The new Camry with the automatic transmissions all have problems. There is a recall on the automatic transmissions. Check out the forums on Edmunds.com and you will see all the problems that new 07 Camry owners are having with their cars. Do NOT buy a Camry. It's built here in the U.S. and the ones that come with the automatic transmissions are all problematic. The quality on the Camry has gone DOWN.
