anyways, test drive them all. honestly, you can't go wrong with the camry or accord, but test out the 6 like people mentioned, as well as maybe a jetta tdi? people rave about them, so see what the fuss is aboot .

Amazing how much we all think alike. IMO, You really can't go wrong with an Accord, Camry and now the M6 as they are typically more reliable and hold their value more than what Ford/GM/chrysler have to offer. I've owned Fords and Hondas mostly as background and have family that's owned everything under the sun. Having said that, the '06ford 500 that I drive as a DD with 12k miles, hasn't even hiccupped once. This one might be a winner and even drives nice for such a large car. Mileage is ~20 mpg around town and upper 20s highway. Love the 6spd. auto.

Don't forget to test drive as everyone has different tastes. Sitting in seat in the showroom is not enough. I prefer the way the Hondas and Mazdas drive as they involve you more in the driving experience than the cushier Camry, so for me, the M6 would be the top choice because of the V-6/stick/hatch combo with the Accord close second v-6/stick with the Toy in 3rd. And I have to admit, I would even consider the Fusion now in 4cy./5spd configuration after the good experience so far with the 500.

What about the automatic transmission problems that a lot of the new 07 Camrys are having? Look at the forums in Edmunds.com. There are a lot of people whop purchased the brand new 07 Camry in the 4 and in the 6 cylinder that are having transmission problems and some other problems. The quality of the 07 Camry is questionable.

buy a fusion. a few grand less price point and nice features(mp3, auto up and down windows). i purchased about 20 toyotas for my lot here. i cant keep them running. let them sit for a couple of weeks and you are f'ed. while i can put a taurus in the back lot for a few months and walk out to it, start it up and drive away.

like already mentioned. repairs are retarded for these *** econo box's . let a compressor or alternator go on you and tell me how reliable they are. i dont carre what people say the failure rate on those products for those cars is ridiculous

I had an alternator go out in my Civic, it was $500 at the dealer to fix. I had already put three AutoZone refurbs in so I had the dealer do it. Yes, it was very expensive.

I have logged about 550,000 miles in various Hondas and that is the only repair I have ever had other than routine maint.

you're slightly larger than the average

my parents 02 sentra is going on 120,000 with no problems at all except the crappy interior. they changed the oil about 2 times, and that's about it as far as maint goes.

Oh yeah forgot this problem.. my dad's camry came with a factory alarm. Biggest POS EVER!!! It would arm itself with the keys in the ignition, and no matter how many times it was programmed not to auto-arm, it would do it anyway. Then it happened that the remote would not disarm the alarm, and thus the ignition was disabled so my dad got stranded down @ my sisters house in RI. The drive by wire throttle is pretty laggy too. But other than those two things, I think its a comfortable car for long trips and has good merging power once the throttle kicks in

Funny, I just talked with a co-worker of mine and her Camry tranny went out at 20,000 miles. Luckily, her husband is a body man and found a wrecked Camry and used it.
So much for reliability in Toyotas.

or the pickups lack of a passenger airbag sensor

there is a very good reason ford's car sales are up A LOT . check out what they have to offer

Anyways the milan/fusion are decent cars in my opinion. I have seen very few problems from them, must be the mazda in them.

cmary, accord, or 6 are all good cars. i would look at them all, test drive them, price them out, and look at magazine reviews, reliability ratings (from actual experience, not "oh my cousins camry needed this and this at 2000 miles......" and taht junk)

the car will be under warranty, so find what you guys like! they are all reliable cars that get great mileage! and the V6 models definately move out
