Hi all. Fist post here so go easy on me please. I just bought a 91 GT convertible, 1 owner, 121k miles, some kind of metallic red (Wild Strawberry?) with black top. I’ll post some pics once I get off my phone.

Anyway, I need to order some parts:

What all season tires do you recommend? I am in PA and would like to drive it as much as possible through the year.

Where would you recommend I order parts from? Need a engine temp pressure sender, drivers door handle, new carpet set.

It’s been in a barn for the past 5 years. I’ll be going through the ignition, suspension, cooling system etc.. I’m sure more pets will be needed for those too.

Please let me if you have any recommendations for me to look at. I am totally new to this mark.

Shop around on Rockauto.com and Tasca.
Be careful with ebay, scams and junk parts.

Thanks. Is there a reputable Ford parts supplier? Rock Auto has so-so for me in the past. I am coming from the Euro car world where we have specific reputable suppliers for certain marks. Is there one for Ford and more specifically the fox body Mustang?

Latemodel Restoration Supply. https://lmr.com/1979-93-Mustang That is a good looking car. I would not drive that anywhere near a salty road so an All Season Tire would be out of the question.

If you know the Ford part number, i'd found https://www.tascaparts.com/ to be the best source of OE Ford parts, if they are available.

Late Model Restoration, American Muscle, National Parts Depot and Fox Restoration are probably the better Mustang-specific suppliers out there. Stay away from CJ Pony Parts. Their customer service is horrendous.

Keep in mind, If you go on any of the above sites and order a component like a power steering pump, or a brake booster, it's likely the same parts store brand part you can get by going to your local autozone. So while a vendor may have excellent customer service, it can sometimes be easier if you have an issue with a power steering pump to just deal with a local shop.

Very nice car.

Always had good luck with ACC for carpets. Premolded and can color match.

I picked her up today in Strasburg, PA. After trying for a few hours to get her loaded on my trailer without harming the front and rear bumpers, I decided to just try the 1.5 hour drive home to Malvern.

Looks like my images are too large to upload. I will definitely need new tires, shocks and some interior bits. Hope to get her on my lift tomorrow to see what is lurking beneath.

Thanks for the advice so far.

All the parts are out there for these cars. Check around as most are selling some of the same things. Don't forget Rockauto for the stock stuff.

These cars are terrible in the rain much less the snow, I'm telling you from experience that you really don't wanna be in any snow, nothing worse than having the wheels spinning as the ass end of the car is headed off the road to the curb

Do you know anyone with one of these?

Amazon product ASIN B0986VT2PPView: https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL%C2%AE-SpotClean-Portable-Antibacterial-3194/dp/B0986VT2PP/ref=pd_lpo_2?pd_rd_i=B0986VT2PP&psc=1

I would honestly recommend giving this a shot over buying a new carpet. The OE carpet just fits better, although if it's trashed i understand. Often times a good deep cleaning and new floor mats really brings it back to life. The above also works VERY sell on seats.

Thanks. As an update to all, during my first few days with the car I realized just how amazing original it is. someone reached out to me about having the original spark plug wires... So, I decided to keep her intact an not replace the carpet.

Also, I completed my very basic and minimal "restoration." The is for sale in the Fox body section. please take a look and let me know if you are interested.
