^ And be sure that you dont overrev it....sometimes I have to feather mine through second so it doesnt go over 6000RPM or so.

To the other guys....get some power, then you wont have a problem spinning at alsmost anytime you want in 1st or 2nd.

I dont have a lot of power but still can spin 1st and 2nd pretty easily. but i guess the 4:10s dont hurt.

The title of the thread SHOULD be: "My GF's new stang has horrible traction.. why?"

Good luck ever putting anything that adds power.. what's the fun of having a fast car if it can't hook up? Most sticks can smoke the tires, and so can a ton of auto's. Hell, my friends '88 CRX can smoke the tires through 1st, and it has like 2.05 gears.

Yip for a basically stock GT spinning in 1st gear is normal, spinning all the way through 2nd and into 3rd with a car full of people seems a little odd. With 3.73's that would have you spinning the tires while travelling at over 60mph

My buddy "test drove" my GT when it was bone-stock 2 years ago... and he roasted first and second. Turns out he just wasn't used to big ol' V8s and popped the clutch back real fast like he usually does with his MR2
