bypass/blow off valve question

I have a 1g DSM blow off valve lying around my house. My question is that does the mounting point of the bov matter, as in would it still do its job if it was mounted on the dishcharge tube that comes off of the blower or does it have to be mounted after the blower. I'm thinking it has to be mounted after the blower because theres no boost being made before it. How did you guys drill through the intake elbow to mount it? Just with a big ass drill bit then widen it a bit more? Any help is greatly appreciated

it has to be mounted bewteen the tb and the supercharger. Also, don't just let it vent to the atmosphere or else the car won't run right between shifts unless you have a blow through MAF. If you have a draw through, you have to route BOV back into the intake tract.

well I got it all mounted up, inbetween the throttle body and the blower, where do I route the vaccum source on the bov to? and should I just run some sort of rubber tube from the bov back to in the intake tube right after the maf or before?

You can just t-off any vacuum line in the engine bay and run it to the BOV or you can connect the line to the vacuum tree on the passenger side to one of the empty spots. Just to clarify, is your MAF between the blower and tb or before the blower in the fenderwell or around there? I'm assuming that its before the blower. If so, route some tubing to go from the BOV into the intake tube before the blower, not between the blower and tb. It should go air filter/MAF --->intake tube with BOV tube going into that--->supercharger---> discharge tube---> then throttle body.

I got it all hooked up, t'd it off my fmu, I still havent routed it back into the intake so it wont hold a steady idle for long, but the bov sounds really nice and doesnt seem to hurt performance. The intake tube coming off the blower is plastic so would some rubber tubing with some electrical tape work for the bov? Or will it leak? I doubt I'll even be able to hear my bov anymore??
