I purchased a new C&L mass air meter for 24lb inj's and it arrived in the mail today. Well, all that came was the tube! Do I have to order the meter seperate? The instructions say to use the stock mass air meter sensor, how could this be? Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks!

If you were only charge $36 you only bought the tube. The C&L uses stock electronics and different sized sample tubes based upon the year and model of the car and size of the injectors used. The different sized tubes produce different readings in the stock electronics producing the correct signal for the injectors.

So then I just have to install the top portion of the stock mass air meter and that is it then correct? Oh, I purchased the mass air meter and it arrived today, not the tube that replaces the old stock black rubber one. I already had that tube.

when you said the tube i thought you meant the calibration tube for inside the meter...
so you got the meter itself right?? the aluminum housing.........
if you got that, yes you put your stock sensor unit in the top of it...some of those c&l's come with a bit to remove the stock bolts that hold the original electronics in place.....

:stupid: I was right with you there, I didn't even think he was talking about the tru-flo inlet pipe since he asked at the MAF, I thought he was talking about the sample tube!

Sorry about the confusion guys! I unscrewed the top portion of the stock mass air meter and installed it onto the new C&L piece. Thanks alot for the help and clearing that up for me!:flag:

I have not put it on my car yet. This was my prior issue:

The car would run somewhat ok prior to reaching normal operating temp. It would hesitate a little bit, and even buck slightly almost as if it had a misfire. Well once the car reaches normal op temp, the check engine light would come on and it would really run bad! Bucking, hesistating, and so on during half or more throttle. So through a code check done by a friend at a shop where the car is at now, I have found out that my idle air control vale was bad, and that my car was/is running lean so that gave a O2 sensor code. When I unplug the old pro-m mass air meter, nothing happens. So I replaced my idle air control valve. I checked my fuel pressure and it checks fine and so does my stock fuel pressure regulator. If I spray carb cleaner into the vaccum line, the car runs a little better and the fuel pressure goes up. I have had this set up for years and I dont understand why I am having these problems! It all happened at once! So I am hoping the new mass air meter helps.
