Ive got a tranny fluid puking problem with the C4 in my 68. Seems to be coming off of the drivers side, maybe out of the vent. Heres the wierd part. It only leaks when driving down the interstate when you coast. Then pukes on the exhaust and big trail of smoke. If i let out of the gas easy and slow down, no smoke.

Drove it on about a 200 mile trip last weekend, and the fluid was a little burnt ( and low) when i got home. I changed the fluid/filter, and have good flow thru the cooler. Is it time to look into an AOD???

Im gonna check the vent to see if it is blocked, have come to the conclusion that it must be pushing the fluid out of the front seal when i back out of it at higher speed.

If fluid come out the vent then the fluid is getting aeration or foaming some people call it. Aeration come from over filling, improper fluid, or by water from the cooling system getting in trany fluid, also foaming can be caused by the pump sucking air instead of fluid, this is caused by a worn pump or a cloged passage way to the pump.
Just to let you know im running a built up C4 to handle 550 hp and I dont use type F fluid, I run B&M Trick shift fluid in my C4 and in my power steering unit
as it runs cooler and dont foam.
