C4 Swap

I've searched and read and re-read all the threads on here about swapping an AODE for a C4. My tranny has died and gone to heaven and I am looking at different options. New AODE's are expensive and I'm not sold on buying a rebuilt one or a junkyard one that will die on me too.

My question now is, what will it take to swap out my dead AODE for a C4?

Have you looked into swapping in a later model (stronger, improved) 4R70W transmission?

you realize that a C4 is 3-speed tranny. unless you don't do much street or highway driving i wouldn't recommend one.

if you have a mostly stock car, i would stick to a rebuilt AODE or as mentioned above a 4R70W

I just went through this only mine was completely dead. A factory remanufactured trans was $1578 or overbuilt for 450HP for $1789. I spent the extra $200 just in case but I had no choice as my wife and clutches don't get along.
