I took the ride around the block the other day and second gear is slipping really bad. I did the B&M shift kit to the trans before I put it in the car and dont know If I messed something up or if I got a bum trans from Oreileys? I took the valve body out and went back through it with a fine tooth comb and everything is right as far as the B&M instructions go. All of the gears work like a champ but second slips against the brake until I hit about 3000 RPM and then it will catch. I adjusted the band to 10 FT LBS and then back out 1.5 turns and it stll slips against the brake untill about 2800? The stall converter is a 2400 TCI and in first/reverse I'm breaking the rear tires loose at about 2K against the brake. so I'd figure second should be the same. The shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 are sluggish as hell like I dont have a shift kit at all, any ideas? or do I have a fubared trans. I'm leaning twards the servo for 2nd or bad clutches, dunno though......

Did it work before the valve body mod ?
I am pretty sure that the torque spec is to 10 in pounds. HUGE difference.
If you have a compression tester, you can check the line pressure. Low line presure will make it hard to engage the clutches
