CA smog and high performance (like oil and water)

CA is 10% of the market for new cars, that is why the state has so much weight with the auto manufactures. But i do agree, the question when is enough enough needs to be posed.

I assume you mean the domestic market. Globally, the new big hitter, with almost unlimited, unsatisfied demand is China. The future demand in China makes our demand here look dinky.
