Hey you guys,

I was wondering does the TB and Plenum upgrade replace the need
for a new CAI? Well "need" .. or would a CAI plus these
two add up for even bigger gains?

Also can someone tell me what the Plenum is? what is its function
i realized I am about to buy a mod which I dont understand.

CAI is not 'needed' per say, but IMO its a good idea to go ahead and add at least a higher flow inlet tube between the MAF and TB. I have the densecharger tube on mine, but C&L, and pretty much any other CAI manufacturer make them also.

The plenum is the part on your engine with the running horse plate on it. Its what the TB attaches to and then attaches to the intake.

I wouldn't say you need an aftermarket CAI. People seem to be getting good gains with a bored out TB, Upper plenum, K&N airfilter, and the silencer delete. Just pop the hood and follow the big black tube. Then you'll see the plenum. Mine even has a mustang on the top.

the cold air intake gives the least of all the gains...

so far I have seen the bigger gains.. from the Plenum, the Throttlebody, the MAF (usually because the car is running rich) then of course the K&N filter..

even C&L says they would expect a 2-3 increse from their intake tube..

Dont hijack the mans thread . Nice avatar though as he said As for your question, a setup is only as good as its weakest link. If you upgrade the TB/Plenum, IMO its a good idea to add a CAI kit of some kind. The stock piece is ok, but anything with a straighter design will not hurt.
