Today I was working on my suckmaro to get it ready for sale and the whole time I couldn't stop looking at my enginless foxbody and kicking myself. Then, to rub salt in the wound, I am driving home and TWO foxbodies passed me by. I saw them in my rearview (it was night but I can spot those headlamps a mile away) and the first one was a GT Vert, and I thought "that wasn't so bad" but then the second one was a nice white LX hatch. If I saw a clean notch after that I would have then burst into tears.

Maby it's just me, but was the FOX the perfect car? Maby not the most practical but no car, short of a 67-69 Camaro even comes close. Don't let people talk you into selling your fox and getting a "better" car, it is just not the same. I don't care if it handles, rides, brakes, and accelerates better, it's not a fox. Even a 15 second foxbody is a lot of fun.

Were you on I575 Southbound between canton and woodstock about 10-11pm?

edit: Oh yeah, you didn't dive it today. It wasn't as clean as yours. But it was two tone silver/grey. Better check the driveway... somebody might be on a joyride. :D

Ditto here. I've got a major stiffy to get me another Crown Vic Interceptor (a '99+ model, preferrably) because I miss my '94 so much, but I could never bear to part with my Fox notch. After I'd sold my first notch a few years back, I'd done nothing but kick myself in the ass for it and wish I had the thing back every day until I scored my current notch.

The main reason I don't consider my Fox practical for daily driving is because I know that if some hoser slams into my car and destroys it, I'll never get an insurance settlement ANYWHERE near the amount of dough that I've put into it. I've got well over five grand in it at this point in repairs and such, basically rebuilding the thing from the ground up and working out bugs, and if some douchebag rear-ends me on the Loop 202 or something, I'm sure the most any insurance place will try to give me is around $1,500, max (because of the miles and age).

Moral of the story: The Fox is an awesome toy and road trip car, but you gotta do everything you can to keep hold of it - never sell, and never let some moron destroy your 'Stang.

Eh ... Foxes can be made to pull 1.0+ on a skidpad and the tail-happy problems can be fixed with a proper suspension. But when you get all hardcore with the handling mods, though, the already choppy ride starts to get downright punishing in its harshness.

The unavoidable squeaks and rattles are just part of their rustic charm. :D

Man you aint kidding....i'm wanting a newer body style like they're using right now...triple black with the steel Sheriff wheels on it

I'm thinking about trading my Jeep in for one actually...then maybe finding a used Eaton for it.

i hope i get the same feeling when i get mine this coming up weekend. it'll be a 2.3 and i have a 2.3t for it but the guy already put a 8.8" in with 3.73's and i think it had the 4-way shocks or whatever they're called. it's an LX with the A4LD and i know this is OT but are there shift kits out there for the A4LD's so it can survive the 2.3t(i plan on getting a new calibration and running somewhere around 22-23 psi)?

if youre swapping motors just go ahead and swap a tranny while you are at it. t-5 if you want a manual or a c4 if you want an auto. A4LD will never hold up to 24 psi, I dont car what you do to it.

he still has it, its just been down for along time for a build!

Yeah, way too long. I went to MPS (stangparts) way up in Winder/Brasselton GA the other day to pick up a used 5.0 motor. Forgot my credit card. I was ticked. Oh well, I'll go back when I get a chance. "my diabolocal plan was foiled, GRRRR, but my quest for track domination continues"

After nearly 20 years it been hard to get out of these cars. For the money they have everything I'm looking (performance/size/comfort). Granted it does take a few mods to bring the performance along but we all know it doesn't take much. When something goes wrong or it's time for some general maintenance I'm confident I can deal with it myself. Plus, it most likely won't cost a grip. Frankly, a well kept Fox bod is still a damn good-looking car IMO. Maybe I'm just spoiled. There are newer cars I would love to have but I dread having a car note again. I'm stll a big fan of these cars and I know I would regret selling them. My '90 has been on the chopping block twice. I put it in Autotrader, and got a few interested buyers both times. The thought was to start saving down payment money for an 03 Cobra. Once the calls started coming though I ended up having second thoughts. It definitely needs some new parts but it runs hard and will still catch a few people slipping. :nono:

I drove a friend's 06 Charger R/T and it was pretty nice. Had good power and rode smooth. The only thing I really got excited over was the thought of that 5-speed "manumatic" in my '92.
