Cam and lifters

I cranked my car this morning to warm it up and got out to go in the house and one of my lifters is tapping this is the first time i've heard it and it's not bad yet, but I need a suggestion of a good cam to fit my car. thanks

Are you sure it's actually tapping, the injectors "tick" and you'll always have valvetrain noise.

I'm not sure... how can i tell if it's the cam or just standard engine noise?

Well, for starters the 2.3 tends to be a fairly noisy engine.

Both my 2.3's had a fair amount of valve train noise, if the hood was open.

I'd say that if you have valve noise that is audible when the hood is closed and you're standing by the driver's side door, that is NOT normal and should be checked out. It may be something simple, too.
