Cam clearance

What does it take to run a .555 lift cam on a stock 5.0 short block? I have a Comp XE-266-HR. Rebuild time is coming up with the tax return.

.555 is really pushing the clearance issue. You might be better fly-cutting the valve reliefs just to make sure.

You will be fine with that cam and the factory pistons. Just make sure you're valvesprings are up to snuff. I hope you aren't running this with stock E7 heads..........

Don't take anyone's word for it. Though you may indeed be fine. It's always best to check the clearance yourself! That's the way I look at it anyway. Every motor is different.

After re-reading, I see you have ported E7's which SHOULD be fine, but make sure to check as stated above.
