Cam degree

Does anyone know if I will have to time degree my cam when I build my engine?

What cam and what do you want to do with the engine?

The cam came with the trick flow top end kit. It's a 499/510, the car is mainly a weekend driver (AkA weekend worrior), and occasional track time.

I would. Do you absolutely trust the maniac that cut that cam that he did it right? It may have been cut at 1630 on a Friday afternoon. Cabeesh?

My bad, I misread what you wrote. I thought you were talking about the install degree!

You should always degree the cam on install unless its bone stock rebuild (even then it wont hurt) valve events are crucial and if cam is ground for certain event timings and its not installed correctly then its worthless and you might as well not have performance cam.
