I would like to know how much of a difrence degreeing you cam make becase i asked my friend who put my cam that he put straigt up he dident degree it . i have a e303 cam and know i should be making more power in the top end than what i making wright know.

Most cams are manufactured correctly to the specs.

Alls degreeing the cam does is make sure that the cam is spec'd as it should be, it is more of a self-check than anything.

Now I do see many retard (more top-end) or advance (more bottom-end) the cams a slot or two on adjustable timing sets to get the desired performance.

Typically straight-up is what most go...it is just a self check for manufacturing error.

about 5-10hp is about all you will see by degreeing the cam in.Most to it because valve to piston clearance (mostly in race motors).

degreeing a cam can do wonders for a motor...or it can hurt performance and possibly hurt the engine. more than likely you should just install it straight up. but cam degreeing is pretty much trial and error.....which sucks because its such a pita to do on our cars

I would disagree with that comment because degreeing a cam is making sure the camshaft's position coresponds with the crankshaft. If you don't degree a cam you will never know if all the parts are lined up correctly (cam, crankshaft, timing chain and gears). I have done it twice (on my 331 and my dad's 351) its not a hard process but I'd rather double or triple check everything. I blue print any engine before I assemble it.

Where can I find a spec card for my cam I got it used I will get some one tO do the degreeing I whant to see how much of a difrence it makes

Most of the time, straight up is good enough. Still, I'm making sure my stoker is dead on. CompCams has a great degree kit, which comes with a VHS on degreeing the cam. It's a great tool to buy or borrow, and it will make sure you do it exactly right.

Thats the same kit I have, it is a really good learning tool. I would highly recommend it.
