I am looking to do the Trick Flow H/C/I kit, and I called the company's tech line to ask about it and what supporting mods they recommend. The tech guy said that they recommend using something other than the cam they include with the kit (TFS-51402000). (appearently they can delete the cam from the kit, and save you the cash) He recommended a place called Anderson Ford Motorsport (web address by the same name) for a custom cam. So I consider that pretty high marks if the company is recommending someone for a custom cam.

The idea, the tech explained, is to find a cam that is somewhat less agressive than the TFS-51402000 cam, which causes headaches for the computers in '94 to '95 Mustangs. He also suggested looking at a Steeda #19 or Crane cam. (The Steeda is about $90 cheaper than the Anderson cam)

My goal is to step up the power a bit in my summer driver ('vert in Michigan). But I am not looking for a loapy, rough idle. And it would be nice if I could run the setup without a dyno tune or computer work (maybe I'll get that next year or later, but hopefully won't need right away).

Any thoughts on these options? Anyone running the TFS-51402000 cam on a '94/'95 care to comment on driveability without a Tweecer, chip or other computer work?

This is the first time I've seen anyone on this forum post that TFS says NOT to use their own cam, and quite a few peeps here are using that h/c/i kit.

I'm sure there are other cams just as good or even better so it really is no big deal.

I've been happy with my FTI custom.

Yea...thats crazy that they say not to use their cam. BUT if you are thinking about AFM for a cam, then i say to go ahead and get a custom cam from Ed C. at FTI like the others have mentioned above. Its just about the same price but you get the customer service and expertise of Ed C.

:nice:

Thanks guys. I'll check out Ed too.

Any thoughts on the Crane/Steeda option? Any guesses on how much power I might be leaving on the table compared to the TFS cam?

Also, Ed does alot more stock bottom end cams then AFM does, he has alot more experience with them.
