Cam movement ?

So, I slide in the Comp xe270hr today. Getting excited!!! Put on the retaining plate. When I put on the timing chain and started tightening it down, my cam pulled forward probably 1/8 -1/4 inch. Is this normal?? Everything is together right, as far as I know......................help.
