Can I run an E303 or a B cam in a speed density car without having to convert to mass air?

Sorry for all the questions...I'm looking at a rebuild and I'm trying to decide to just keep it all stock or convert to mass air and go with a better cam. Budget is way too tight to do that, but I need to get this figured out.

I've got a practically free set of E7 heads, so I think I'm going to clean those up, use dished pistons, and decide what to do on the cam and be done with it. I just want a nice, driveable Mustang, one that will get me from point a to point b, and where I can take it to the track once or twice a year, make a few passes, etc. without worrying about tearing it up.

One more question...what kind of rings would you guys use in my situation...moly or cast? I know they came from Ford with moly rings.

Thanks so much for your advice...just want to do this right.

Really if you want it really streetable but a little more power than stock id buy some 1.7 roller rockers and retard the stock cam. I ran the F303 can in my 88GT with SD and drove it every day, but it took a lot of fine tuning to get it to not surge at idle.

Why dished pistons? Planning on going with a S/C in the future?

Id go with Moly rings IMO.

What you could do that would be more bang for the buck would be a set of thumper e7 heads and a good intake, with a stock cam! That would net you alot more power than a cam on a set of stock e7 heads. Stock cam is perfect for stock untouched heads

The crower 15511 is a great cam. I used it with 1.7 RR and it drove perfect as well. I did however start having problems once I put my heads on......had to conver to maf then.
