Well a lot of the power to be gained from a PI swap is due to the PI cams. You would notice an improvement, but it's also designed to be a factory cam. Aftermarket cams may give you a little more power.

Comp cam makes a xe268H for NPI apps that makes good power and maintains great drivability and owners compliment. I recommend a PI intake with that tho.

I do not mean to thread jack or anything but its stupid if i posted another thread about head swaps. Whendoing a full PI swap what is the safest most aggressive cam to use with a stock bottom end so there is no tapping? I searched already and nothing came up

CMS stage II N/A's is about as far as i'd recommend. Also i was planning on doing a PI intake. I was looking at the intake from livernoise that seems pretty much all there with no modification. Is that worth the money or is it better to just use a normal PI intake. The whole RTV thing kinda worries me.

That's a good question. The answer to your's lies in where you want to be driving. If you want to floor it and shift at redline a aftermarket cam is definitely the prescription. If you're looking to remain shifting (as you must be used to shifting early w/ a NPI car) at 5000-5200 then stick with a PI cam. Peak to peak (meaning where both sets of cams make their most power) i'd bet the gain from a 268H over a PI cam is only 10rwhp (guestimate), but at 5900/6000rpms where the PI cam isn't at it's peak i'd be willing to be that gain is doubled. Besides the nice little lope at idle, the 268H also looses very little tq below 3200 rpm's like some higher stage cams can.
As for the intake, doesn't that Livernoise kit with the spacers make hood clearence tight requiring a cut in the hood insulation? Either way will work, if you're doing it yourself maybe you'll be more comfortable with the kit. Egh - i didn't want to write all that out, but oh well; it's all in the name of education.

The Livernois kit comes with the intake shaved in order for it to fit under the hood with no clearance issues. A lot of people have also done the RTV method with no issues also. Just your comfort with the install.
For the money the PI cams are the best. You can find them cheap or you could land some aftermarket cams used. I got my Comp 262's for $325 with 6000 miles on them. The 262's netted about 10HP over the PI's. Each step up in cams (Crower Stage 1-2 or Comp 262-268 etc) will be about 10-12 HP.
