Blackened302 asked me to post for him.

We are going to swap out the cam in his car from the nitrous cam to a milder tfs1 cam this weekend, but when he did his before, the engine was out of the car, and when I swapped out my cam, my engine was out of the car as well. So now that we're going to change his in the car, we are wondering how to get it past the condenser.

We don't want to crack the a/c lines and draining them to remove the condenser is not a well liked idea.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance. :flag:

Cool, that's what I suspected. Mine had a lot of room to move around when I had the engine out, but my lines were disconnected from the compressor and we weren't sure how much room we'd have to play with.

Thanks for the quick response.:nice:

Here ya go, found a picture, we just layed it over:

I did this as well. Only my brackets that held the condensor in place had a rough edge on one and it cought the thing and BAM...pppppssssssssss :(. So be very carefull removing it from its base brackets mine FUBAR'd me up reall nice that *$$#@*#@*&^%&#^@'ing, *&#@^%!%*&^$#%!!!!!mn, &^!%@! thing.

I had to cut a square hole out of my bumper support (part right behind the bumper). I was 1/4in short of getting it out, used a cut off wheel and cut a small hole and pulled it out into that hole then back up and out.

I just did this. I didn't feel comfortable laying the condensor completely over onto the fender (fear of breaking something) so I rotated it up and over and then bungied the thing to the hood support.

What cam and gears are you running? It looked like you where having trouble the other night. Plus are you running some type of tuner?

I'm running a steeda #19 and 3:55 gears. I have a custom burnt chip as well. The car was giving me trouble on wed at the track. I checked my timing and it had backed some and I have other electrical gremlins that are taking just about all of my power. Gonna look into it this weekend.

Elec. gremlins....check your main grounds. I had a bad motor to chassis ground (runs from drivers side motor mount to under the frame rail). That gave me some funky elec. issues. I did not know it was the issue until it left me stranded. With how many others have had the issue it is worth starting with that.

Who burnt your chip? Car sounds pretty good with that steeda cam, better than my E. Hope you get all your bugs figured out. I almost ran a 12 on drag radials to bad that night was very humid.

Thanks man, chip was burnt by no other than stangnet's own Wes. I think I got the bug worked out. I rewired my fan with a new relay and relocated all the grounds, but it was still wreaking havoc on my electrical system, so I ran a 2nd ground from the block to the chassis and everything seems to be on track. The headlights, fogs, fan and everything can be on while the car remains unphased. I checked my spark and it seems to be healthier as well. tomorrow I'll check the voltage at all the hot spots and take it for a test drive.
