Cam swap w\ AC

89GT. How much of a nightmare is a cam swap with the AC condensor in the way? can it be dropped enuf to get the cam in over it? without disconnecting it? Jack up the engine? Are there any tricks to get around it?

If you don't want to open the system take it out of the bracket and carefully place it over on the passengers side where air box is. The flexible hoses will flex enough for that, just be careful. I have also seen it move to a portable bench right outside the passengers side fender.

cam swap with AC

NO WORRIES, just did an exploritory to see and it turns out the condenser will simply rotate down with the lines still connected leaving plenty of room to get the cam in, so thats awsome. Project ON!

And yes the compressor, just lifted it up and hung it from the hood lift rod with some wire. Out of the way.

I could of swore that said compressor not condenser, sorry I didn't answer your, but glad out got it figured out.

I just moved mine out of the way... pulled the radiator and I had plenty of room to install a cam.
