I'm degreeing in my cam and I have a quick question. It's a B cam with 5 BTDC and 39 ABDC on the intake. My check came up with 1 BTDC and 44 ABDC. Is this cam 4 degrees advanced the way it is? I reallize the closing would be 5 instead of 4.

If you are trying to get to 5* BTDC, and you are getting a later intake opening point, like 1* BTDC, it is 4* retarded.

This is the cam degreeing procedure I used.

Good Luck.

I was actually trying to get to 4 degrees advanced. I just wasn't sure which way was advanced or retarded. I'll double check but it looks like I have to go to 9 degrees BTDC.

The B cam is supposed to have 4 degrees of advance built in. Does that mean I only have to come back to 5 degrees BTDC?

I will double and triple check everything before I button it back up.

I advanced mine 4 degrees from straight up. I did not degree it prior to the install. With the 3.73 gears that I run it has great lowend and pulls like a mutha in mid range all the way to 6K.
This was prior to the SC install. Of course it's balls to the walls now. :D
