Wow, sorry to hear being how you moved across the country to work there, well kind of. But, it's great that you have one lined up.

Thanks! I kinda knew it was coming. I did do some stuff that would be frowned upon, so I'll own that. But there was multiple times I was blindsided with stuff that applies to everyone. And there seemed to be at least one person who reported every little thing I'd say or do. It was starting to feel pretty toxic honestly. Never really felt like I belonged even though this was where I got my start. It's all good though, there's other aspects of it all that I just had problems with that I couldn't seem to get over, whether they were imagined or misunderstood or what. Honestly, it feels kinda liberating to be out of it at the moment, and I'm sure it's all for the best in the long run. Now, as long as I can get another job in, let's say, the next like 3 months, I should be good.
For those who are following along - I have 2 interviews tomorrow. One with the company that I was with before I went back to school again in 2010-11, and a phone interview for the same kind of position with a different company. We'll see what happens in the next exciting episode of "The Misadventures of LILCBRA" 
As for the car, I'm waiting on some parts to arrive. Some of it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday, so I suspect that that is when I'll jump back to working on getting it roadworthy again.

So yesterday was a bit of a whirlwind.... had that first interview at 830, I thought it went well and I was back home by 930. They called around 130, said someone I used to work with worked in their toolroom and told them I was a good guy, then offered me the job. I told them I'd let them know sometime the beginning of next week. Then, at 3, I had the interview with the other place and I thought it went well too. At the end of the call she asked if I was interested in coming in for an in-person interview next week. I asked if they were pretty stuck on the hourly rate numbers that they had posted, I told her that their high was where I was looking to start. She said that she'd check and get back to me. I kind of doubt that I'll hear back.... In any event, I basically have a job lined up already. So, no need to move up to a D cup....

Back to the "beater".... reinstalled the front bumper cover. The gap is a lot better than it was before, but still not quite right, especially on the right side. Did find it was torn between the tabs, I wouldn't think that it would have much bearing on it though. Oh well, not too worried about it, I think it's good enough!
The paint was delivered yesterday with a few other deliveries. Hope I can get it painted without f'ing it up too bad. On a positive note, my neighbor came over last night and we were bs'ing about it. He paints custom semi tractors, he gave me some pointers and told me to let him know if I needed anything.

Oh man tc's where beat to death teen/ early 20's owners when they where new, they also are surprisingly 
ty on gas for the combo. Not shocked at the drywall screws, those where cars that always turned down repair work too back then and would come in looking like they where driven in a war zone . Otherwise there pretty fun comfortable cars. I'd suggest not using the sliding roof lol, did so many warranty jobs on those damn things.

Wonder, were they sh!tty on gas because of the lead foot teen driver, or is it something else? I'm sure it'll beat the 13-17mpg that my truck gets though. I mean it almost has to be better than the truck....
Gearing and driver probably. Like 23/24 average city highway, not much better than a bolt on v8 efi 5spd foxbody.
That's about what I got out of my II when I roadtripped it from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach for Mustang week in 2016. Surprised the hell outta me!
Sanded on the bad spots. The side I messed up seems pretty straightforward, but I have a question about the side that was a previous fix. These cracks - would it be best to V them out and refill them? Or would some spot/glazing putty do the trick?
Nope, it's the quarter panel. I have a new bumper cover waiting to be put back on though.
I suspect that it's kinda thick, but don't really have a good estimate. Was thinking that if I would have to grind it all away if I shouldn't use fiberglass reinforced filler before using a skim coat to finish it off. Seems like that would probably be the best approach.
I have some fiberglass reinforced Bondo that I used on the hood scoop for my Cobra, but it's probably around 20 years old now. Haven't popped the cap of the can to see what it's like, but I did pick up a new tube of hardener. I also picked up a fresh can of Bondo even though there was this unopened gallon can left in the garage from the previous owner. The hardener tubes were shot, but haven't opened the can to even bother looking at it. Figured I'd check it out once it warms up in the heated garage since it was in a different building, but I have absolutely no expectation that it'll be any good.
As expected, that old can was shot. I also decided to throw out my old can of fiberglass reinforced Bondo. I could still stir it some, but figured it wasn't worth the risk if I ever decide I need to use it again.
Came home with some new toys.... um, tools. A new die grinder, 90 degree die grinder, orbital palm sander, and a Black Widow HTE paint gun with cups, among some other smaller bits. Figured if I'm going back to work in a shop that I'd like to have a set of die grinders at home too. But I put that sander to use pretty quick and eliminated the cracked filler. It's really not all that deep, so I guess I'll just reapply some filler and call it a day.
And here's the side I f'ed up, stripped down and awaiting filler. I'm not sure if I'll try to pull some of the dent back out or not, it seems like it may be a lost cause....
