cams and stall...

im looking at getting cams and stall here shortly...i just bout a nitrous kit and kinda dont want to spray now...so im gonna get cams and a stall converter. i was wondering what i should get in each. i was thinking and bout this stall:

and i may even get another intake and spray it too...if i get and intake itll prolly just be the first thing i can find at a decent deal...i just dont want to spray that plastic intake...if you guys could give me some kind of advice it would greatly appreciated!!!

There's a reason the TC is $400 - i never say "you get what you pay for," so I'm going to say the expensive ones are expensive for a reason.

Two things:
Look at the size of that TC, 12 7/8". That means it's a rebuild core based on the original design except now spinning faster internally to support a 3200-3500 stall. Basically you have a big mass that you're trying to get more out of with some different internals but it wont due you good for long, especially on nitrous.
What you're going to want to look for in a description is "2800-4800" or 5000 or even higher. This means the limit is just what the customer wants, not when the thing will balloon on you.
Mine is just over 10", most great ones are on the upper end of 9" or 9.5.
Also name is huge, you need a place with products that see hell and no ones talks about needing a trans rebuild after.
Smaller means less moving mass and less loss as well, altough on a dyno it wont show much as TC's artificiality make some loss.
Spend the money you would on an intake on the TC. With a proper set-up you dont have to worry about pooling, and if it messes up the intake then you'll need one then anyways and could buy one then - lol.

Secondly, hate to break it to you but you're going to be best suited with a 3-piece TC. Anyone running nitrous (built motor or not) is recommend to use a 3-piece 9.XX" converter. This means you're in the $800-1100 range. I went with single piece design and it might get me in the end with how much power it will see soon, but I'm sorta betting on it not.
If you use a single piece, make sure not to spray off the line, or just do it very infrequently and run a big cooler with a trans temp gauge.

Look around, those cams can be had new from excess stock or used for $400-475 shipped from private sellers, I would know.
And I would suggest a 3400-3600 stall with those cams for sure. I have a 3200 and with stage 1 cams if the tune isn't right it'll stall out and die. I have stage 2.25 blower cams going in soon.

I have a DirtyDogPerformance 3800 9.5" Triple-Plate Torque Converter, set me back a few $$$ but well worth it...I daily drive the car with no problems...including comp262's and 4.10s...making the jump to more aggressive cams and 4.30's

should have no problems spraying on the intake either, I sprayed for awhile and even hit the rev 5+ times and the intake never blew, and i have the plastic crossover.

i'd prolly go with more gear, 4.10's are good.

thanks for the info guys...ive really got to do some thinking...i hate nitrous so im gonna try not to use it much. I cant decide on what cams i want...i just want a good all around one...it doesnt have to really beat the ground that much...and im definately going to run a good cooler with the stall. and i want a middle of the road one...i cant find many places that sell them...its either cheap or high dollar from what ive found

CMS stage 2's are great cams, have a great idle and make great power. But I dunno about an "all around" cam. I don't love em, but for a cam you'll feel daily driving with good amounts of power - i'd say hitech 2's
