Is it possible to burn up your cats if u have a s/c? I have a 00 gt with a vortech and a prochamber and have to get it smoged here in cali. I was going to order a magnaflow catted x and was wondering if this would happen. The prochamber and packs are gettin kind of aggrivating anyways, sometimes its just too loud! Oh, and will I pass the sniffer with this set up?

don't they do a visual inspection in california? If so the sniffer's not the problem. The problem is you have not cats on your car.

I think the packs are going to be loud with whatever midpipe you put on, but Ive never heard of a supercharger burning up the cats...just the race gas you have to watch out for.

If you do not have long tubes, when you need to test your car. Slap on the stock H pipe and drive to the testing place. It will be fine.

You wont pass with anything but the stock H pipe. As far as the cat back it doesnt matter what you have.

you need to have either the OEM exhaust manifolds or CARB approved shortie headers. the only legal midpipe is stock. you also have to make sure that your supercharger has a CARB EO plate or sticker on it. and the only way you will burn up cats with a supercharger would be if you run leaded gas, that i know of anyway. also make sure that your fuel pressure regulator is either stock or has an EO.
