I was thinking about buying a vortech supercharger for my 04 mustang gt and i only have exhaust done to it. I was wonder if it could hold the 6-10lbs of boost and will it kill my motor in the long run?

I'm amazed that considering how easily these POS plastic intakes crack, that they can hold up to boost at all.

15psi is nothing though as far as pressure goes. The coolant cracks are more due to heat over time, than the pressure.

Exactly what he said. There are dozens of guys here with Mongoose kits on stock blocks that are perfectly fine. Mongoose kit is the best bang for your buck imo.

$4,000 gets you a full kit, boost pipe and most importantly...TIM'S TUNE!

Our blocks have been known to hold strong to 400rwhp. Anything over that and you may be lookin' for a new block soon.

wow, i thought you had a built bottom end in yours already!! mine wont be anything crazy like your turbo. i'm down on power and boost since i installed the intercooler. i am ordering the 3.25 paxton pulley today. i should be at 12-13 psi and i am hoping for about 440 to the wheels. the only reanson i'm pushing it soo far is b/c i have a new block, cobra crank, and Manley Pro series lightweight rods $1400 rods FTW!! all i'm waiting on is the pistons, and then the real fun starts!

NICE! Honestly I havnt even started saving for a new block lol....and I dont think I will for quite a while. After the cards are payed off, im going to get a bike (or thats the plan). Then ill start building up the banking account.

So, whats the HP goal with the new shortblock?

NPI 4.6, look closely @ the car, especially the side scoops and tail lights, those give it away.

i'm wanting to go somewhere around 550 hp on the blower and then i'm considering a 150-200 shot just in case. i originally wanted 650 and no spray but many people have told me that 550 is about as far as you want to go on a street car. anything more than that and it is a PITA to drive normally. i still need a fuel system (thats another $1500 or more) and i promised the wife that i am almost finished! shes wanting a 2007 Camry SE so i guess i need to finish my car up and let her get whats she wants too.

Yea after 550 i have heard the same thing....too many thing start going wrong, and parts start failing more often. I have the same goal with a forged motor, and my goal with the stocker is atleast 460RWHP. (I "want" 500RWHP but i have to see if Tim thinks it will even last through a dyno tune haha)

i know what you mean. i really want to push mine over 450 but i'm scared that it will let go on the dyno!! i just dont want to trash my heads b/c i plan on staying 2v, but if something does happen i have a complete 4v setup just sitting in the junk room right now! i'm still using tims tune right now. it is leaned out all the way so i am hoping taht even with 12 psi i will still have enough adjustment to get everything right!

BTW what tranny and rearend setup are you running??
