There are a couple vette ls1 and camaros in my neighborhood and they are always lookin to run, I basically have a stock car except for headers, Tell me what i can do to run with these guys! Thanx

I ran .2 slower than a guy I know with a 98 z28 with a cat-back, air lid, with an auto and 2.73 gears. Mods are in my sig, but I'm a hatchback lx with a 5 speed. Thing is he has a lot of potential with a stall and 3.73s or better, my next task is to actually tear into the motor. I could keep up with him, especially out of the hole and through the 1\8th as he run the same times I did but he'd pull on me up top.

Is your engine stock?
If so, you will continue to be crushed with your setup.

LS1 is a great engine, lightweight and rev friendly.......even a H/C/I 5.0 will barely keep up.

HCI + boost will do the trick

E7s/Stock cam/Cobra intake and bolt ons and I can run with them on street tires. Once they start modding they start to become an issue, but mild and stockers my car would run side by side!

This thread is lame. Are you talkin from a stop? From a roll? 1/8 mile? 1/4 mile? Track? Street? Stock LS1's? Modded? LS1 isnt the benchmark for the world, there are plenty of dirtslow ones and plenty of fast ones.

My buddy has a 98 LS1 that runs 12.20's @ 110. From a roll I can put a car length or 2 om him easily. At the track Im sure he will have me covered because he cut low 1.6 60ft times and 7.70's in the 1/8 but doesnt have much top end. Ive got no traction in 1st or 2nd but will hook up part way into 3rd.

A freak Flava, my car stock was a low 15 second ride, hardly a freak. Would have LOVED one of those low 14s high 13s bone stockers as a starting point but you use what you get!

Bolt on LS1s can be FAST. My friends trapped over 114 with just a few small things. Now with a cam, the car traps 117. Scary fast, some of them!

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.
