The shop said the governor was seized up, and they cleaned it and put it back in and still no good, so they're over-nighting a new one, but I called to try to find one locally, and one guy said he had some but that governors don't really go "bad", they should be able to just be taken out and cleaned, but apparently that didn't work on mine. He said that's usually an indicator of a bigger problem.... WTF.
So what's the real deal - is a governor replacement the solution, or are these guys barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks,
J
