Can I beat LS1's or LT1's yet?

if your car is a 5-speed w/ tires it will smoke a stock ls1...let alone lt1

i own a '95 lt1 and have raced many, many lt's and ls's and low 13's will do it

i will say that a stock lt1 will cook my stang though...but it's a 'vert and aod
 
i'd say it would be close. my 2 best friends are gm guys with 2, 96 lt1's, one is an 96 ss 6-spd, the other 96 auto. the ss went 13.4 stock, the auto went 13.8 stock. the ss weighs 3700 lbs with driver. so given your weight and mods it would be close, unless they are modded too, its slim chance to win. not to sound bad, i love my mustang and others, but gm has an advantage in hp anyways over a 5.0. my buddy's ss with a cam, ported lt1 heads, long tubes, 11.5 compression, 4.30 gears, and some better suspension parts went 11.94 @115 all motor. 10.54 @129 with 200 shot n2o
 
i beat my buddys ls1 auto last night, and it was an ok race. i have 290rwhp with 3.27 gears, 5speed, heavy sound system, a passenger,a 1/2 tank of gas, and S H I T T Y tires and i was more than a 3 car lengths till about 100 or so, then he got about a car closer after that, then we let off. i also let him jump me. ls1s are fast, but with gears, some engine work and some good driving you can make them feel slow for sure

Your car should have absolutely no problem with a stock LT1 Fbod. It may be a driver's race with a 6-speed LS1 (in the 1/4) but they'd have the advantage up top.

i think the idiot at the bar was just trying to get a rise out of you...

i ran that 13.95 in my sig bone stock with a bad clutch...i don't think you should have a problem with a stock LT-1...

just don't sleep them upstairs...the blower may run out of breath :rolleyes:

seriously though, KB @ 7psi with those other mods will rape an LS1. I dont see why you are scared, you are lighter and have the power adder and gears. :hail2:

My thoughts exactly. You will beable to take LT1s easily that don't have major mods, like heads, stroker, cam... LS1's also. They are good for low 13s with a good driver, but you should be much quicker then that with that Kenne Bell. You'll be fine.

If I were you I wouldnt be doing any racing till I got a good tune.....
