Can I get my steering wheel recovered?

Hey guys,

My steering wheel is showing signs of age now, starting to look crappier day by day as the leather is getting worn, so I was wondering if there is any place out there that can just recover it? I'd think that would be the cheapest option for me.

Option two would be to get a FR500 wheel - I've seen a few advertised for reasonable prices, but the only color I can find is black. Did they make any in dove grey, because that's what I need.

Thanks!

The only color that the FR500 wheel is available in is 99+ dark graphite (not black, 99+ Mustang's never had black interior). You have a few options:

1. Buy a new stock wheel from your service department (last time I checked they were $399)
2. Ditch your airbag, horn, and cruise control and get an aftermarket wheel (maximum motorsports can hook you up)
3. Do what I did . . . get some vynil dye from www.metromustang.com and follow the instructions exactly. It takes several coats, but the results are VERY good, considering the cost is only ~$40. Get the cood stuff from the website so you can match the color properly, don't get the cheap crap from Pepboys.

Thanks for the reply - do you happen to have any pics, before and after or just after of how it worked on your car? That def. sounds like the best option because I don't want a miscolored steering wheel, although it wouldn't look that bad, but I'm NEVER going to pay $400.
