can i hit 12's??

as of last night my current best run is 13.35@105 with a 2.25 60' time. i have all stock suspension with 4.10's and nitto drag radials. would it be possible to run in the 12's with some rear suspension components? i was thinking about adding lakewood shocks, mac control arms, and eibach drag springs with an airbag. would this cut my 60ft times down enough to run high 12's, and is 105 mph fast enough to go 12's?

thx for the input

Well you only need that extra .36 to be into the 12s, and with that listed suspension I'd definetly expect better 60 ft. times... I say yes, you could get there. Your 60 is pretty slow for a Stang... drop it to a ~1.8 and you'll see 12s.

Oh and BTW, I think you could pull off much better 60s with your current setup.

How are you launching? You should be cutting ALOT better 60' in your car then you are now, I cut 2.1's on my 16" street tires before....try learning how to launch a little better and I think you will gain alot more time

You should be cutting at least 1.7 60 foot times with nitto drag radials. I cut 1.8 in a stock suspensioned, stock longblock car. 105 mph is enough for mid twelves. You just need to learn to launch better.

91 GT ran 12.86 @ 104.80, 1.70 60 ft. Ran 13.13 @105.20 on stk size radials (16") w/ 1.98 60 ft. Sounds like you need to practice the launce and maybe pull first gear a bit higher so you don't kill the tires on the 1-2 shift.

I have a similar combo like 5.0fox, but an aod. I've been told 105mph is more than enough to get you 12's. I was running 2.2-2.3 60's and my first time out. I think you and I need to practice launching a bit more.

My 12.56 was only on a 105.8 mph pass. I have gone too many 12.6s at 105 for it to be a fluke mph. My 60's are between 1.69 (best ever) and 1.79 on those passes! A set of ET Streets and you should be mid to high 12s with that mph.

As your car sits low 13s high 12s could happen, those DRs should go 1.8-1.9 60's!

its not the imediate launch its that with 4.10's my torque is multiplied so much at high rpm's that the tires break loose at about 4k in first. they just arent grippy enough i think. i also went a couple 2.0 60' times last night but i didnt do as good up high. what do you think the listed suspension stuff would do to my 60' times and how would it affect my et.

They won't do anything to your 60' until you learn to launch the car better. Nitto Drag Radials are capable of 1.6-1.8 60 foots. How much are you heating them up? You should be getting them wet and doing a nice smoky burnout. They love heat and like about 16 psi of air. If your launching at 4k rpm and they are breaking lose, try launching a little lower. Suspension might drop your 60 foot, but it won't drop it where it should be and it won't teach you how to drive. You just need to keep practicing.

If u are planning on just dragging it. I would get a set of traction bars, Laurel Mountain Mustang drag springs(same as Eibach cheaper), 50/50s and 70/30s in front. Change stock uca to polly bushings. That is what I did and have low 1.5 60 fts maybe one day a 1.4.

it needs to stay a daily driver so im gonna try to stay away from drag struts in the front. i think i will go practice some more and maybe invest in some e.t. streets. i cant stand have a car thats capable of 12's and not being able to run them.
