just wondering if i can add a couple washers or something to raise my engine a bit? one of my LT headers knocks on the body, and i think if i raised it a bit, it would give me the clearance i need. my C&L intake tube also hits the fenderwell at idle which i hope would also clear if the engine was raised maybe 1/4". would anything negative come from doing this? i will be getting some aftermarket mounts in a month or so when i make my next order, but for now, will this work?

not hard to change the mount... should take just as much time as trying to shim it... might as well do it once right...

agreed. Don't ***** rig it. Just get the engine mounts and do it right the first time. My BBK CAI also rubbed the shock tower when i had it. I hated that bastard thing so much lol.

i'd like to, but the prob is canadian prices. i buy almost everything from the states because it's less than 1/2 the price than buying locally. problem with that is the shipping and duty etc. so i buy a lot of parts at once to reduce shipping costs.... i plan on a new intake, motor mounts, brakes and pads and probably a few more things soon, but prob. not for a month or 2 when i save up some $$$..... (or get my student loan, to be more accurate!)

If you decide to shim the motor mount, use solid aluminum plate and not washers. The result will be far superior and neater looking if you trim the plate carefully. The plate will need to go between the engine and the mount, not the frame and the motor mount.

Rick 91GT made a couple of nice shims for mine out of some steel stock that he had. Hit him with a PM. You may end up needing longer bolts depending on how much space you need.

thanks for the replies. i'm a welder (during the summers) so i'd be able to make my own plates or whatever i'd need to do it. its not really something i NEED done right now, just that the rattling parts are kind of annoying. i was mostly wondering if it is ok to do this for a couple months, or if it would be dangerous or damaging. i think i'll go take a better look and see what i'd have to make to get it done...
