can i mill gt40 with stock short block and e cam?

hey guys i was looking into milling my 4.6 heads (becaseu they are warped) and i didnt realize that it didtn cost that much.. so my question is. i have a engine sitting on my stand in my garage waiting to get dropped in ..stock shortblock gt40 iron heads not p's e cam ...would milling those gt 40's give it some more power? how mmuch woud geting them milled alittel bit up the compression? my question actually was.. can i? is is therento enough room? p.s im using 1.7 cobra rr's i dont no if that is irelavent or not ..

That all depends on what your piston to valve clearances are. I am in the process of milling my p heads down .020-.030 to pick up a half a point of compression. In the end I will be over 10:1. I believe the regular gt40 heads have bigger chambers than p's to begin with, so more milling would be required. With an e cam, and 1.7's you may have some issues, I believe that the lift on your cam is around .5 without the rockers right?? So with 1.7s you have close to .530 lift. I myself have 1.7's on a crower #511, but I have a much shorter duration than you do, and my total lift is .500 intake and .520 exhaust. Some where I heard that one half a point of compression is worth about 15hp, I dont know for sure on that though. Maybe someone else can chime in with more info.

I have gt40's milled .025, and I was told for every .010 milled, I would gain about 1 pont of compression. Being that stock gt40's have 8.0:1, that would being me to 9.5:1. I have no clearance issues, with a TFS stage 1 cam, which is slightly bigger than the E-cam. The only 'problem' I had was that the Typhoon intake didn't seat quite low enough on the valley, and I had to use silicon and the gaskets, which I don't like using (gaskets).
