I've the the magnaflow catted x pipe and the magnaflow cat back. I was thinking now that i've had the system for a while that i might want something louder since hopefully in the near future my car's gonna become a weekend warrior. Would it be possible to swap out the magnaflow mufflers that came with the cat back to the magnapack mufflers?

Nope, the inlet and outlets on the Magnaflow muffler are offset and the Magnapak muffler is a straight through design. The pipes from the muffler back will not line up at all if you swapped the mufflers. I called Magnaflow and asked as well as went under the car and pulled the mufflers and tried to line up the pipes to see for myself.

You may be able to have a muffler shop do some cutting and fitting to make it work.

hey, how does your setup sound before you switch? I am going to get the catted x-pipe and was wondering if it sounds good with the regular mufflers. I haven't heard that combo yet.

The packs+x-pipe seem too loud for my conservative tastes...

Well i've had the combo on there for quite some time and i'm very happy with it. its the perfect combination for someone who doesnt want it too loud. Its loud when you get on it and are accelerating, at idle is got a little gurgle out back if you standinb behind or next to the car, barely noticeable when sitting in the car. crusing in 5th gear at 45-70 mph sounds damn near stock in the car. 70+ in 5th puts you in about 2k rpm drone zone and its not unbearable for long trips. Its very enjoyable and the noise level is easily controlled by how much you dip into the throttle. Goose it and you're gonna turn heads. Its a unique sound and when you floor it it literally SCREAMS. My only complaint, not a lot of gurgle when you downshift and are slowing down using the engine... the packs give you that.

Now i have heard the magnaflow catted x with the magnapack system and it is NOT too loud and very acceptable for a daily driver, and this is on an 03 cobra i've driven a few times. it REALLY turns heads and gurgles quite loudly at idle, but in the car its really not bad at all. No drone.

Great, sounds just what i'm looking for. Good luck with fitting the packs, doesn't seem to pose too much trouble.

No. Unless an exhaust shop modify things for you.
