I want to tow my quad around but since I sold my jeep I have nothing to tow it with. Will the Mustang be able to handle the load? My main concern is the transmission (auto). The trailer and quad don't weigh much. I was thinking for the price of getting a trailer hitch installed in the Stang I could probably buy an old Ranger or S-10 and just use that. Yes, that's what I'll do. Thanks so much for your help. Merry Christmas.
I pulled a jet ski and trailer around with my Stang in the summer time.. It did fine!
It gets a little tricky when you try to pull out of the boat ramp...but I guess thats to be expected.
They can put a low weight reese hitch on nearly any car!
What's a low-rate Reese hitch please? Yeah I can imagine getting up a slippery boat ramp would be tricky! Here in Rhode Island I've seen quite a few people using tow trucks to get their whips out of Narragansett Bay. How much did it cost to get one of those hitches thrown on?
I have a hitch and wiring harness for my 96 gt that i'll sell you for $50 shipped. I want to get rid of it. e-mail me at danny10301@yahoo.com if interested.
I saw a Corvette pulling a pair of Jet Skis and launching them into a local river. Was odd ... but he certainly had enough torque to carry them around.
He said it's one of the best cars he has ever used to tow something because of the low center of gravity.

If you can help it ... please don't put a hitch on your car (use a truck)... and don't put 7.5'' wheels on there if you plan to take it through mud, either.
they make stealth hitches for stangs, only thing I ould suggest is bigger brakes, dont know about you but I dont exactly stop on a dime with the stock brakes without a load.
