can i use a laptop for any control of my engine

do they make programs or anything that can turn your laptop into a scanner?or use a laptop to reprogram computer?or even if the laptop is converted to the cars new computer system and stays there?i know they make electronic fuel systems and all that..im sure a state of the art laptop could do much better if programed
anyone know any info reguarding this is appreciated

Yes, there are programs out there to do t and mnay of us do. Look into the eec tuner or twEECer. I have the eec tuner and can control many aspects of the EEC with ym laptop.

I use Tweecer RT. THere is a learning curve but far worth the money. You can do just about anything as far as modifying the computer.

be able to change my shifting points

adjust my advance<timing>retard

monitor air/fuel ratio/pressure
possibly adjust the mixture or pressure

be able to use it as a window for nitrous,when to spray,how long,when to stop,disable if pressure or mixture or anything is inproper,,

scan all sensors and computers

really anything i possibly can control ,,,i want to controll it!!!im gonna search for the TWEECER ONLINE and investigate

With tweecer you can do that plus a whole lot more. You can take out your rev limits, change injectors, change mass air, adjust a/f but you need a wideband o2, turn off egr, and much much more.

I would recomment the RT version which means, 'Real Time'
With this you can datalog and know exactly what your engine is doing and how the computer is responding. Prices are listed on the site.

I didnt know this information... I'm ordering myself a laptop right as we speak! Now only if I can find out a way to hook NAWS up to it so I can tune my car fast.

j/k it'd be nice to have the laptop in your car if you have the Tweecer RT so you can tune as someone else is driving the car, or stop and tune it when you're behind the wheel... Just dont see it pratical to keep the laptop in the car though

i just wanna know whats goin on w/my engine and be able to tune it..after you start changing all kinds of parts their useless unless there tuned correctly..and we all know how much those speed shops like to RAPE us by the hour!!for the money its a smart buy worth every penny!
