can I use this 1977 351w electronic distributor on my 67 289?

I went to adjust my timing and tapped the vacum advance housing since the dist was stuck and snapped the sucker off.

I have this distributor in my garage and compared it to the dist out of the 289 and the body & gear is similar.

I was curious if I could run this and what type of ignition box I would need to get. Could I just wire it up to a MSD 6AL?

no, the 351 had a taller deck and a taller distributor to compensate for the deck height.

not sure about that but the oil pump driveshafts are different too and the 351's will be too big

they are correct - cant use a 351 distributor in a 302 block, sorry.

snapped what off? the vac adv or the entire distributor? I bet the vac adv can from that distributor would fit your other one...only take a min to find out.

the aluminum broke off where the vacum advance bolts up to.
