man, i'm almost done with my project. i just need an outside opinion. i'm not asking for any work to be performed, just to take a look and see, if everything looks ok. because not every part on a mustang needs to be used, i just want someone to come by take a look, and make sure i'm not missing any valuable parts and peices. i'll buy the lunch and beer. i'm in Orange CA. near the Santa ana/Anaheim area. if anyone feels up to it, i'll PM you my cell # and address. thanks

Can't travel to Cali (can't even understand why anyone would want to live there), but describe the project and many people will be able to chime in with what they screwed up.

I know I can tell a few good stories myself.

yaeh i see what you mean, but what i'm trying to say is, this is my first engine swap, and everything up til now seems to be going well. i would like someone to look over it real quick, and make sure i crossed my "T"s and dotted my 'I's.

fly me to Cali, I'll take a look! :)

Can you post picts? We might be able to spot the really bad mistakes from that. Do you have any specific questions, anything in the back of your mind that you're unsure of?

Just, check and the recheck every connection. Torque and then retorque every bolt. You should be alright. As long as you don't have too many left over parts.. ;)

i have tons of left over parts, thats what i'm doing the swap with, left over parts. lol. here are some pics:

look at how much room is left in the engine bay. the only thing i've really done was put the upper intake on and some of the wiring.

wholy ****!!!! I am local, and was going to volunteer, until I saw what you dropped it into!!! you need to make your way over to socalhorspower.com It's a hardcore mustang enthusiast site, where me, and a lot of other great people post, right in our/your immediate area. Spend a few minutes there, make a buddy, and no doubt, someone will help you out, looks like a hell of a project!

damn u got balls puttin it in there. i cant see any thing so obvious that i can see form the pics but im in ga so no help here. look in the region specific area of this site to find somebody.

What the ...

Dude, you are just crazy enough to be cool!

I know a few people who would bow there heads in shame after seeing those pics!

Good job!!!

Check every wire and make sure that it is connected to something. I saw a couple of empty harnesses in the pics. Did you use the computer from the donor car, ie where you got the motor?

the mustang computer isnt hooked up yet. its a complete swap from an 87 vert donor car. thanks everyone. there are 3 main harnesses that arnt hooked up, one on each side of the bay(from the 7) and the one from the mustang. i'm going to go check out that website.

haha, thanks guys. it means alot to read all this, i just cant wait to start posting times. the car stock weighs 2450. with Rx motor and full interior and all. when the swap is all said and done, shouldnt weigh anymore, if not less. i'll be incredibly happy with 2500 lbs with out me in it.

i also switched some of the pics around. stangnet wont let me put more than 4 pictures up
