I desperatly need to clean my IAC due to terrible idles on quick stops. I'm talking drops to <500 rpms for a quick second as well as an unresponsive throttle at times.

Well I bought carb cleaner, popped the hood, and ummm where is the IAC? I was told passenger side of the intake? Can anyone point at it via image please? :bang:

Thanks!

I have heard about people cleaning the IAC, but what exactly do you clean once you remove the IAC

Cleaning it bought me an extra week. To clean it, take the IAC OFF and spray the hell out of it with Carb Cleaner. If you look inside of the hole where the Gasket goes, There is a spring in there. Spray allot of Carb cleaner in that hole. Remember, this is only a temporary fix. The IAC only costs about 40-50 bucks and 10 minutes of your time.

What do you mean by "bought you a week"? I'm cleaning mine in hopes of getting a decent idle back. >.<

When my IAT sensor went out, my car would not hold an idle at all, as soon as I took my foot off of the accelerator, the car would die. I took the IAT sensor off and cleaned it with Carb cleaner. A week later, the car would not hold an idle again so I replaed it.

Yeah thats all you are supposed to do, when i cleaned mine i also put a little carb cleaner on a rag and used a screwdriver in the rag to get into the little holes on the plenum, a couple of minutes and there was no black gunk on them either, the car ran good as far as i could tell after that.
