can you swap to a manaul rack and keep a/c

i have a 88 gt with a power rack i dont want the power steering whine anymore.i want to swap to manaul rack but keep my a/c cause i drive my son arround in the car

Yes.

I did it and it worked just fine. Just had to run a shorter belt.

no extra brackets or tensioners if so do u have pics or part numbers

No.

No extra brackets or tensioners. Just run a short belt bypassing your power steering pump. Like this.

hey i heard that running no P/S on a power rack will tear it up. why would it??
can someone give me the lowdown on this?

would the 84.5 inch belt work with no P/S but you still have the smog pump? Should you remove the smog pump?

The 84.5 might work. You could go to the parts store and get a few different sizes and take the ones that aren't right back.

If you have to pass emissions then you might want to keep all your smog stuff... if not, rip that junk outta there. Less junk under the hood and less weight on the front of the car.
