I have a 1995 Cobra coupe, 105,000 miles, all stock suspension; it has a very annoying creak/pop in front end that I cannot locate. Happens when suspension loads or unloads, such as when I take off from red light, or when I touch the brakes. Also randomly happens when I hit a bump at SLOW speed.

Already tried so far: replaced struts. Removed, inspected, reinstalled springs. Removed, inspected, reinstalled anti-sway bar.

Took car to local shop, and paid for two hours of diagnosis time. They could not find the cause, and certified ball joints, tie rods, etc as A-OK.

Took the car next to local Ford dealership. Paid for 3 hours diagnosis time. Could not locate cause. Also certified BJs, tie rods, etc as good - no replacements needed.

I am at a loss. Short of replacing all front suspension parts, does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
CW

A friend of mine had a popping noise when taking off and I found the nuts loose on the motor mounts. I tightened them up and the noise was gone.

CW, do we assume the spring isolators and strut bushings were checked off as A-ok?

Good luck.

Does it make the noise when you turn the wheel back and forth?
