I just got a 86 notch with a 5.0 5speed. My cousin put in a 5.0 out of a 96 explorer and put the speed density cam in it. He never drove it much and I bought it off him.
The car seems real low on power. Jumping on it in first and it doesnt want to break the tires loose from a stop and the **** to second is weak and seems dead till 4k rpms
I set tps to .98, and the firing order is right and the timing light is showing 13degs but the TFI module is against the thermostat housing. It has a little of a exhaust leak at the headers against the heads.
I checked for intake gasket leaks and vac leaks. Im not sure why this car is so low on power, yo would think it would fly with the gt40 heads and intake and the car is light. It does have 273s but it ran better with the 5.0 ho that was in it before the engine swap.
