Cant wait! Drag radials on the way!

Hey, we still on for tomorrow? Just ordered my window switch, same one you got. The original owner also sent me the Bosch wiring harness and a few other parts that came with the NOS setup. So this should be fairly easy to do and maybe we could do this sometime next week so I can make a pass with it on the 24th. Let me know about tomorrow.

Here are the code results for codes 11 & 81. Whats your opinion

www.corral.net/20anngt/eec.htm

That list of EEC IV codes is not 5.0L specific.
11 is a pass code and 81 is for the secondary air- meaning the thermactor assembly.

You are getting the 11 because the pcm doesnt see a problem in KOEO, but when running it has stored a continuous code 81 for the secondary air not diverting. This will not affect driving or set a check engine light so ignore it.

Adjusting the idle and the TPS is why. Since your thottle stop was backed all the way out your idle was so low that the Idle Air Control Valve just couldnt allow enough air into the motor because the throttle was closed all the way. Not to mention you have an aftermarket cam installed. When the idle is that low there almost always is a delayed response or hesitation on the initial application of throttle.
Since your TPS was set over 1 volt when the t-body was closed the motor was running overly rich, making the low idle setting even worse. Must have been a crappy thing to deal with all the time.
Everything we did yesterday will give the results you're feeling.:nice:

I'm partial to the Systemax intake as thats what I ran on my car. Hard to beat when it comes to flow #s. These days most intakes work pretty well. I dont have any experience with the BBK intake. The Edelbrock is pretty good too.
In my opinion you want to stay away from intakes that make power in the upper rpms. Sure you can run them but if you're driving it on the street as a daily driver and you're not planning on spinning the motor to 7,000+ rpm you end up losing/ sacrificing the lower end power that you need for high end power that you'll only use a fraction of the time. You really want a long runner, torque producing intake for a daily driver. The horsepower diff isn't worth the loss of power down low.
Check your pm.

:nice: Gotcha! Thanks for the advise...

Hey, I got my MSD box in ALREADY!!!! I just ordered it two days ago from performanceparts.com and it was on my doorstep today! Now thats fast service... So maybe sunday, if your not busy, we could hook it up. What do you say?

Stock tires are 26 inches tall so you'll need to recompute. Trust but verify regarding the gears. I cannot remember what tires you have but I am sure I would have noticed a 24 inch tall tire. You cannot trust the accuracy of a factory tach. Even a cheap ($50.) aftermarket tach will be an improvement over the factory one.

I think his tires were somewhat small but can`t say for shure.
The AOD is a pig without at least 3.73`s and after changing the timing the 60' dropped to 2.15 which is where mine was so im inclined to think it has 3.73`s
We need to put the 4r gearset in and he will drop his 60' to 1.9`s
