I got the 7 quart deep sump pan from them and ive had nothing but problems. First it wouldnt fit over my CANTON stud girdle and I had to modify it with a hammer to get it to fit now the welds are leaking. Im talking overnight it will develop a puddle the size of a piece of paper. Such a piece of ****, for the price i paid id assume they at LEAST wouldnt leak. now to the tech part of it lol. is there something I can use to make it stop leaking, maybe a 2 part epoxy or something?

You could probably JB Weld the spot where it's leaking from. If you have access to a welder, it might be a better idea to put a couple new welds on there for a more permanent solution.

Did you talk to Canton about a solution/refund?

As soon as you took a hammer to it, Canton lost all responsibility for how the pan fit.

Where did the pan not fit? Mine fit just fine. I did have to custom bend the pickup tube, but that was it. I had no problem with the cap girdle.

Your best bet will be to weld it up.

it had to be modified in the back driver side corner, it wouldnt sit down becase the stud girdle got in the way. I havent talked to canton about it and I really dont want to talk it off just to get a refund or a new pan if I can fix it on the car. As for modifying the pan, it was minimal and i doubt most people would even notice but the pact that it wouldnt fit over their own girlde is so lame.

thanks

you know a had the excat same problem... what i did was gring out my girdle abit and cut out the baffle in the pan so it would fit. i bought mine off rick91gt (think thats his name) he was surprised to hear it wouldn't fit. i was actually kinda frustrated cause my girdle was a canton one too, you would think their own pans would clear it.

A friend of mine had the same problem. He called the dealer and sent his back for a new one at no cost to him. The welds were leaking on his like on your pan.

ok so this a good fix! I went to work today, (ford dealership) and my buddy told me to use some diesel silicone. Its grey and it works wonders!! Put the tube in a caulking gun laid a bead on both edges and when i was ready to go it was hard and dry as a bone. (about an hour) I drove 10 miles back home and it isnt damp at all!!! Canton still sucks cack though, im not very impressed by their products so far.

I've used over 50 of there pans and have not yet had those issues. I have never used one of their girdles however but have used other popular brands with out any issues.

Unfortunatly as soon as you modify the pan it is your forever.

D347643, no need to be immature. He was speaking figuratively. You hit it with a hammer, he made a comment. Don't want replies, don't post. If you wanna start an argument with someone over every damn thing you don't like, at least spare us the wasted post, and take it up in PM's or something. We have a thread going in 94-95 talk about all the bickering going on at this site... I can see why it was started.

1991vert`s reply is a legitmate reply just like mine.,if I purchased a aftermarket product and had problems with it,the first thing I would do is call their tech dept and try to find a solution from there first before trying to "make it fit on my own" which then alters the original product and probably voids any warranty.Does this course of action not make sense?

Just put a canton 7qt on a 347 I built and it fit the DSS main support and windage tray great. I have one on my motor with a scat support without fittment problems. HHmmm??? Wonder why it won't their own support??

Maybe it was a Monday or Friday pan???? You know you want to get the Wedsnday pans..

alright whatever. i wasnt trying to be immature it kinda made me mad. Saying i beat the snot out of it was a smartass response anyway you look at it. That implies that i just whacked away at it and that was the cause of the leaks. durrr you blame me for bickering and stuff this site is becoming seriously so gay. I have more people telling me that im wrong for modifying it than actually giving me ideas on how to fix it. Read my first post again, all i asked was for ideas on how to fix the leak not how i should have sent it back. Just close the thread down i already fixed it. gt 5oh had the same prob and he chose to modify his girdle instead of his pan. I didnt want to risk the structural integrity of the girdle so i took a deadblow and slightly knocked it out where it was touching. And thats not even where its leaking! Thanks for the wasted posts guys and for the ones that actually gave some constructive input i appreciate it. This would never happen on corral, stangnet blows. +1 for post count everyone good job!

Sorry for reviving this thread, but I wasn't on here at all yesterday. That is honestly the reason I don't post on Corral though. From what I've seen, there's a LOT of bickering, complaining, whatever you wanna call it going on over there, and at least twice the amount than here. I hope you got it all worked out though. Would be interesting to hear what Canton has to say about their pan not clearing their own girdle.
