Cap and Rotor replacement question

I was wondering if i have to mark anything when i replace my cap and rotor or replace it the same way the i see it. Anyone??

Yep and most also have a raised number 1 on them so you can't go wrong.

I would pull each plug wire off the cap one at a time and swap it to the new cap - that way you dont risk cross wiring a couple plug wires.

If doing the 1 by 1 method wont work for you... You can also make a template of where each wire comes off on a piece of card board with a permanent marker.

Just draw a circle with eight dots on it and a two rectangles with the cylinder numbers on it.

Well i found the firing order diagram i have and i numbered my cable with a marker. Looks like the ball in the middle terminal keeps falling out and some have grayish corrosion too. I changing it right after i get out of work tomorrow while there's light still out. Thanx.

That is a good call. One time while doing a tune up on another car, I yanked all the plugs, wires, cap and rotor out, knowing I had the firing order in the book.

Well, ended up with a nasty miss. The book was wrong on the firing order. I figured it out by pulling wires and if they did not change the cadence, I knew that wire was hooked up to the wrong cylinder. I later found online diagrams showing the correct firing order. Now even if I am sure of firing order, I do it one at a time just to eliminate one source of issues (since I have brainfarts often).
