car feels like its bogging. pretty annoying

i've been experiencing a problem with my car. when i'm coasting at about 2000 rpm and decide to give it more gas, the car slowly drops 500 rpm and then starts to slowly accelerate. it feels like the car is barely accelerating. this is starting to get really annoying. it feels like the car is gutless.

its an automatic with the only mods beeing a CAI, Mac-catback, off road h-pipe, and subframe connectors. stock tranny, diff. and suspension. thats all i have done to the car.

if anybody has any ideas what it could be, i would really like to know.

Explain give it more gas and coasting. What gear are you in, does it downshift, have you scanned for codes?

If not, that is where I would start.

well say i have the pedal down about 1/4 and then i go 1/2, is when the problem happens.

it happens when i'm in third. i think its wanting to downshift to 2nd but this happens.

i'll give the car a scan to see what pops up.

Try some gears that will help it stay in the higher rpm so it won't try to down shift and it will be much more fun to drive.
