Car Is HERE!

I only have 300 miles on mine so far, but I have mashed it through first and second and I didn't notice any lag in the throttle at all. That's with the TCS on too. All I noticed was nice acceleration and a nice healthy chirp when I shifted to second.

In all fairness I drove the thing less than a mile. Who knows it may not have even been warmed up to operating temperature. If it isn't right the service manager and I will undoubtedly become well acquainted with one another. I have thought that if this is a problem and they give me the "they all do that" routine to just come right out and ask them to reflash the computer and see what kind of a reaction I get. But we're jumping the gun here. I drop off the $$ for the car tomorrow and depending on what Ernesto deceides to do, I will either pick up the car tomorrow at that time or have them keep it indoors overnight (the salesman volunteered that). I live in a beach house on a barrier island with just a carport. Right now the weather channel is predicting gust in excess of 50 mph tomorrow here on the coast.

You must not be paying attention. The instant you drop the hammer, there is a slight delay before the engine responds.

I see, maybe I am just a tard. I think it might be that I have been driving a 93 GT with no mods and I didn't care about making it run perfect b/c I was getting rid of it. All I know is this thing drives like a dream compared to the car I had before. I guess I will just wait until it bothers me and go buy a tuner and CAI. I am thinking exhaust right now though.

I owned a beach house right outside of Savanah, GA. It was on a little area called Tybe Island. All it had was a carport, but it was kinda like a vacation/weekend home. My oldest daughter decided to go to college out there and move into the house. The spray ruined her car, and it was undercoated. Just couldnt hold up to the salt spray. I think her driving habits didnt help much either. But you take car of that beautiful car. I still have to show up around Fayetteville, NC. every now and then. Maybe we can meet for a beer and swap some war stories sometime.

From my very short drive in the new car, it seemed less responsive to inputs from my right foot but actually quicker than the 96 Cobra. I know that doesn't sound like it makes any sense. It has to be the difference in throttle linkage. My thoughts are the same concerning the CAI & tuner fix if I can't live with it.

Out here on Topsail we have the same problem. Cars must be washed at least once a week to keep up with the salt spray. I usually hand wash on weekends (either by bucket or Mr. Clean Auto-Dry) then most of the time hit a coin operated spray as you go place mid week. I am seriously considering purchaing an electric pressure washer for the mid-week wash. The other issue here is that there are no storm drains on the roads on the island (guessing they would only fill up with sand if there were) so any rain water pools & puddles. That water has to be corrosive with the salt content, and will turn the underside of a vehicle to rust in no time at all. I plan to get the GT Ziebarted once I determine that it won't negatively affect the factory warranty.

Took Delivery of the Car on Friday

I let the dealer keep the car while Ernesto beat the hell out of us Thursday night, and picked it up Friday evening. The had stored the car in the showroom, & I have a pic of the car in there with the neon blue oval sign refecting off the paint on the hood. If someone will assist with posting of pics I will be glad to share.
I've got about 75 miles on the car and am happy to report that it seems fine-no rattles, squeaks, groans, or funny noises, etc. & very little cowl shake. I hand washed and dried the car yesterday, and the redfire clearcoat paint is perfect-no orange peel and a uniform high 'wet look' gloss. The top didn't leak a drop anywhere, which makes this the first of 3 Mustang convertibles that I can say that about. I am very happy that I paid the extra $$ to get the cloth top. There is a hint of throttle lag, which I will address with my service department and see what they have to say. My salesman tried to tell me that "there is a spacer that is sold at the dealers accessory store that will cure that." Yeah right. I found a post on another web site that may help with that which I will post separately. Since they wouldn't bend on their $260 "Documentation Fee" I got them to throw in a $50 store credit and a free oil change.

Thanks. Had I known it was going to turn out that way I would have taken the time to compose the pic a little better, so that I got the whole thing in the picture. I was a little rushed as the salesman had been waiting on me all day.
